how to get administrative privileges in wine?

Post by UG1 »

Hi i am having problem installing origin in wine. it says that i have to have administrative privileges to run the application. but when i change wine to an older windows it says i am using an to old version of windows.

Is there a way to get administrative privileges on wine without changing the wine windows spec to older than vista?

Wine defaults to Administrator as the user level for all NT type
operating systems (Windows95 and 98 did not have this feature.) Have
you looked at the Applications Database for suggestions on how to
overcome this problem?

Most likely it's using some form of copy protection that doesn't work on Wine. As James noted, Wine always shows that user running it is an administrator. So it's not the problem with permissions, but the way program checks for them.

What program are you talking about exactly?
