wine + external optical device?
i was thinking about buying an external dvd or bd device. are there restrictions of any kind on working with wine?
Re: wine + external optical device?
As long as the device works with Linux, there shouldn't be a problem.

offtopic:
where is an optical usb drive typically mounted upon connection?
can you tell me a page with current recommended drives (linux)?
In most modern Linux systems CDs/DVDs (USB or ATA-connected) and USB drives typically are mounted using the Udisks2 subsystem. E.g. see: Arch Wiki: udisks .
Also see: WineHQ Wiki: Eject . A useful command for older games, with multi-CD installers, etc.!
