Hey guys. First post here. I'll get to the point.
I'm using a mid 2012 macbook pro running OSX Yosemite (not the most recent OS)
I'm trying to run some programs in wine, but I have an audio latency problem of about 1000 milliseconds, which is completely horrible. I've looked at some other similar posts, but none really answered my questions. Using winebottler, I tried the following workarounds: I changed the audio driver to OSS, ALSA, and PulseAudio, but the sound wouldn't play at all. When I checked Mac Core Audio, I got the audio delay problem, so I'm assuming that's what is selected by default. I'm don't think I have ALSA OSS or PulseAudio installed, however, because I got a message saying "No sound device detected. Sounds may not play" when I tried those.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

Re: Audio Latency Mac
Winebottler is not supported here; retest in plain Wine. Use the WineHQ package. https://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX
FYI, ALSA and PulseAudio are for Linux only.

Re: Audio Latency Mac
Thanks for your help. It gets confusing sorting bewteen the mac and linux wine posts. You've helped me steer in the right direction, at least.
EDIT: I tried opening gamemaker 8 (the software in question) with wine-devel but sounds would not play. Winebottler requires the dll's dsound and directmusic to play. How to I configure those in wine-devel.

Re: Audio Latency Mac
Do I want wine staging or wine devel? Whats the difference? Thanks.
EDIT: I went with wine devel. Apparently staging is more experimental.

Re: Audio Latency Mac
Try wine-devel, which is the development branch. Wine-staging includes experimental patches.
