Yes, I've already read the AppDB, but it's a bit confusing.
Every tests results rate it as "Garbage". Some says it runs, soem says it doesn't.
However, there's a post right below the tests results which says it's possible to install, run and make WLM 2009 to work.
The problem is that I can't find that offline .msi installation file anywhere in Google.
I've downloaded a "wlsetup-all.exe" file which weights 141Mb. Yes, it's an offline installation file for Windows Live Essentials, but it seems that Wine can't handle that type of installer.
So... Did anyone manage to make WLM 2009 to run 100% with Wine? Also, where the **** do I doenload that .msi installation file the post author says? (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=11389)
Windows Live Messenger 2009 - Is it possible?
- if you still have a windows machine with it installed, check the windows folder doing a quick search
- try doing the windows updates till you get to that part, after the dowload is complete before it start installing do a quick search on the windows folder again
- if you find it you can probably copy it and try running with a switch Install_WLMessenger.exe /Silent or maybe install 7zip and right click the exe open archive to see whats inside it, if it has an installer just for messanger maybe
