Problems Installing Photoshop cs4 (DAVE LEMSING)

Post by DAVE LEMSING »

Hi Again...
Still having Problems...
System is Mint 9, Gnome standard 32 bit.
I have an extract from the terminal window... from when i run the command: LANG=C wine Setup.exe
This is after i have a clean install of wine 1.1.17.. with the winetricks installed as per the instructions @ wine-HQ
The PhotoShop cs4 Extended installer starts, afetr a bit it wants Gecko, even though i have installed it with winetricks:: this extract is where things go wrong.
err:module:map_image Could not map section .idata, file probably truncated
err:module:import_dll Loading library xul.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\windows\\gecko\\0.9.1\\wine_gecko\\xpcom.dll") failed (error c000007b).
Could not load Mozilla. HTML rendering will be disabled.
The installer goes on a bit more then Just hangs forever....
Can some one Please help me out.
I am new to Linux.... & not really enjoying it so far....
DAVE.

At the moment, it's easier to install on Windows and copy it over to
Wine. For Photoshop CS5 (and its free trial), you can use wisotool
to do both. See http://wiki.winehq.org/wisotool

Hey Dan,

How exactly do you transplant a program from windows to wine? What files do i need to copy over?

I'm guessing this will work with CS5 Master Collection?
