graphics card not detected

I've got the following problem with my wine1.2 version and the game "The Lord of the Rings - Return of the King":

the game doesn't detect any graphics card and refuses to launch.

is there any known way to make it work?
(my graphics card: ATI Radeon HD5770)

make sure you have current graphics cards drivers installed and other things will already run right, like glxgears.

Make sure your graphics card info is set up properly in the registry. See the wiki article on useful registry keys. I actually had to build my video memory data into the proper key.
