CorelDRAW X3 installation problems

I'm using Wine 1.2-rc6 with Kubuntu 10.04 and for some reason, the installation doesn't work. I already read in the AppDB that it doesn't install on 10.04 but there's a workaround.
What should I do to get it working?

According to the test report, the "workaround" is to use the portable version, which doesn't require installing.
