Running Songbird in Wine.
I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed Songbird for windows. When I connect my archos mp3 player, Ubuntu finds it right away but Songbird can't see it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you map the mp3 player as a drive in winecfg?FearlessFife wrote:I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed Songbird for windows. When I connect my archos mp3 player, Ubuntu finds it right away but Songbird can't see it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wine auto detected the mp3 device and mapped it to drive letter D: with a path of /media/ARCHOS 1. Hope that answers your question. I did not manually map it. I also have a c: and a z: drive mapped in the winecfg and songbird sees those just fine. No clue what to try next. Banshee and Rhythmbox see the mp3 device and can access the files on it.
You didn't mention what Wine version you're using. If it's not the latest development release (currently 1.2-rc4), upgrade.FearlessFife wrote:Wine auto detected the mp3 device and mapped it to drive letter D: with a path of /media/ARCHOS 1. You say Songbird can see your z: drive. What happens when you try to navigate to /media/ARCHOS 1 via z: ?

Sorry, I am running the most recent version of Wine. And I try to open location "/media/ARCHOS 1" from within Songbird and nothing happens. When I open location "D:" it opens up a tab that gives me an index list of the files on the device but I still have no way to manage the music on the device from songbird.
