Hi, i am a mac user, and a starcraft 2 player. Once the beta went offline, i decided that i wanted to get the map editor working. I went through problem after problem with boot camp, crossover, and parallels. I accidentally found wine, and decided to give it a shot. After i learned the command line, it worked surprisingly well. I got the windows version installed. So now i need to open the game, so the patcher can install the editor. Unfortunately, every time i try to open the game, i get this:
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Fellow Mac user and SC2 player here .
When you use the command line, you need to escape the spaces with '\'s:
$ wine StarCraft\ II\ Beta
Then it will run.
Personally, I think it sucks that they didn't port the Map Editor to Mac OS. Yet.
it just brought up the "localhost:Starcraft II Beta chevalierhome$" search prompt again.
Are you receiving ANY output?
If so, and it is short (less than one screen) please post it here.
If not, please see the follow Wine FAQ entry to create a logging file
and then post the file to a site like pastebin.com and then post the
resulting URL here so we can look at the output.
Please give me a hand here, it's unbelievably frustrating being this close to achieving my goal, yet having it just out of reach.
I think that the problem might be coming from the fact that the mac version is also in my computer. I tried to delete it, but finder says that the file cannot be deleted.
I do have the editor files on a disc, so it might be an option for me to just drop the game, then use the disc editor.

Used Man:
The fact that the program exists on your Mac in a Mac native version
does not mean anything to Wine (it cannot even 'see' the program's
native libraries).
