Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installation failed.

Post by Auriono »

I get to a decent point where the installation is initializes but I get a nostalgic error report with the problems being two .tmp files. Any ideas for this? Also, the new Wine update makes the Sony Vegas 7 installation work flawlessly which didn't wasn't the case before...

.net 2.x does not work on Wine yet.

Yeah. (On the theory that we should start posting FAQ links when FAQs
are asked:
http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-05147ef ... 2b438068f0
Man, that's an ugly url.)
Also, the new Wine update makes the Sony Vegas 7 installation work flawlessly which didn't wasn't the case before...
Sweet. Though
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=3467
says the installer always kind of worked. Does the app work yet?

No. It just needs .NET Framework 2 in order to work. Once that's installed, Vegas 7 will finally work under Wine.

Oh, we can *install* it. It's whether it works!
Follow that FAQ link I posted for instructions on how to install .net 2.0.
Then try the app. It probably won't work, but it doesn't hurt to try.
