Trying and failing to install Neverwinter Nights 2

I'm trying to install Neverwinter Nights 2 on wine, I'm using ubuntu 9.10 and Wine 1.1.4.2. I tried to mount the image on AcetoneISO and open it using wine but it says "Access denied".

I copied the contents of the .iso file to another folder and set all the permissions to "create and delete files" and "read and write" and then tried to run the setup.exe file in terminal, it says

wine: Bad EXE format for C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\install\setup.exe

I tried replacing the setup.exe file with one from another .iso file (which worked before, but had a transfer error due to a problem with one of the .cab files) and ran that in terminal and got all this:

can anyone please tell me why this isn't working and maybe how to attempt to fix it?

well I haven't tried to install from an ISO, but it installs fro the actual disc fine, so I'd assume a ISO would work. Just mount it as a drive using a loopback... no 3rd party software needed. The ISO might be corrupted though.

ok, more to the point.

if its mounted incorrectly, it could have problems...

but more likely the problem is that the ISO is corrupted.

I have no problems running the setup for NWN2 straight from my DVD... if I get time later on I'll ISO it and see what happens, but I doubt it'll be much different. I don't think the problem is with Wine's ability here.

bump, any ideas about how to fix this? I'm fairly sure the problem is not that the image is corrupt because I downloaded a different nwn2 image and tried to run setup.exe and got the same error.

alright, i got it to work by using acetoneISO to extract the image to a folder and running it from there
