1. Install wine-1.1.40 if you do not have that already installed

2. Try you application in a clean prefix

If that does not work

3. Post terminal output.

It looks like it's trying to load a browser page... Try clicking inside that empty-looking window and pressing Ctrl+A ("select all text") to check if the text just isn't invisible because it has the same color as the background...

If that didn't work, try winetricks ie6.

There's an howto in appdb.
You shall install an older version of wine to register autocad.... The registration pane was broken due to a regression some time ago.
Once installed, you can re-install latest wine.
It's a pain that this regression is still there, yet.....

If you want the problem to go away, you have to find what broke Wine in
the first place and then file a bug report. Whining here will get you
nowhere.

Sorry, but i'm *NOT* whining, and *I DID* file a bug report about it, some time ago. I also located the breaking patch with a regression test, which is, btw, a patch regarding html handling, in mshtml, IIRC.
As I see it seems difficult to you to read wine bugs before telling me that "I'm whining", here's the post :

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12570#c54

Anyways, thank you for your *really* useful comment.
