Paint Shop Pro 9

Post by David99 »

I am fairly new to Ubuntu and I have not found a program that will give me the facilities I'm used to in PSP9, hence I loaded Wine.

Current setup, Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala 64bit version, Wine 1.1.40, PSP 9.02.

Most of PSP works well, but I get error code 102, not enough memory for this operation.

Is it possible to increase the memory available to Wine?

Thank you,

David.

Wine uses whatever memory is available on your system, up to 4 Gb per wineserver. The 4 Gb is a limitation of all 32 bit programs. Of course, other things on your system use memory, too, so if your app is really running out of memory, you need to add more or shut some things down. However, unless you're running a system with very limited memory, I doubt that's the real problem. "Not enough memory" is often just a generic error message that apps throw up when something unexpected goes wrong.

Thank you for the reply.

The pc has 4Gig of memory, maybe I'll try changing the emulation, it's currently set to Windoze 7.
