IE6 won't install

Post by simontriley »

Hello,

In the past I've used wine to run IE6. I then had my RHEL 5 machine re-built.

When I try to install IE6 under wine I get a dialog box open saying a newer version of IE exists on the machine. But I don't have IE installed.

I deleted all .wine dirs, I removed and re-installed .wine dirs. I also cleaned up /tmp dir neither of these solved the problem.

Does anyone know what could be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Yes we do if you had visited the appdb you would know as well.

Wine has a hacked up wine browser that fills in for IE in lots of applications. It says a lot more modern version than IE6. Even that the wine version of iexplore is basically non functional. No toolbars.
