If it has a hardware driver it will probably never work.

You could get help with installing if you read the wine faq and post
terminal output (debug log) however.

You don't need their program to use justvoip, voipdiscount, etc. You
can use any sip client to connect to Betamax servers. Try Twinkle.

You mean I can use my justvoip account using Twinkle? How can I do that?

Follow the directions on their web page for setting
up a SIP device. Only instead of setting up a
hardware device, use the same settings to set up your
SIP phone software:

----------
from: http://www.justvoip.com/en/sipp.html

... you have to make sure that your software is
installed and configured the right way.

Software configuration

General
SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.justvoip.com
Proxy server : sip.justvoip.com
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your JustVoip username
Password : your JustVoip password
Display name/number : your JustVoip username or
voipnumber
Stunserver (option) : stun.justvoip.com
----------

Another free SIP phone software is Ekiga ( see:
http://ekiga.org/ ). I dont recall if you said what
version of Linux you are using but Ekiga is installed
with the Ubuntu distributions by default. I would use
whatever SIP phone software is shipped with your
Linux distribution so you can avoid any installation
issues.

I can install and run JustVoip, but it won't connect and log me in.
Did anyone find the trick for running it?
I don't what VoIP, and I know I can use other SIP software.
I want to use the scheduled SMS functions that JustVoip has! :x

JustVoip / VoipBuster

By the way, JustVoip is in WINE's AppDB as VoipBuster, SmartVOIP, VoipCheap, VoipDiscount and Voipstunt. They are all the same software.

If that's the case you can use a wide array of linux voip clients. For
example I use the "Twinkle" SIP client on linux and SIPDroid on
android to connect to VoipDiscount.

Yes, yes. But it doesn' t help us to use the SMS scheduling functions that the actual Windows Application has.

Just write a cron job to send SMS via your provider's SMS relay website. Something like http://phone.isp/sms.html?n=5551212&m=hi+there

Good one. But not so easy in Brazil.
JustVoip, and derivates, actaully amaze me. Not even Google is able to send SMS to all phone providers here.

Hi!
One note from a user of FreeCall, Nonoh, LowRateVoip and others: I'm not using the clients for calling, I'm using either Asterisk or a SIP gateway (Linksys, Cisco ATA etc.). However, what I need the original clients for, is to set the account. For example, you can set your originating numbers (CLI) and there is NO way to set it by other means (from the web, by the phone). Without your CLI being set, the calls are delivered with pseudo-random intrnational CLIs with presentation restricted (CLIR supplementary service), so the called person sees "Private Call" and there are people ignoring "secret callers"...
So, I'm also voting to fix wine at least to the level to be able to log in to the account and manage it. No real calling necessary (for me :-) ).
With regards, Pavel.
