Elder Scrolls Oblivion

Post by beingben »

Has anyone been able to get this to run off of WINE? Cause i have the iso and tried to run exe through wine but failed. I tried to drop all the documents onto the desktop and just run the exe with WINE and it still failed. Any help is much appreciated.

It's buggy. Depending onthe version you have there are different fixes. It's best if you look through the AppDB to find your version:

If you have UseDirectHW=y under the HKCU/Software/Wine/AlsaDriver key, set it to n. http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys Otherwise it's a ALSA,OSS,pulse system setup problem somewhere.

i have no clue how to do that or what to do. I'm running 8.04 Ubuntu, and Oblivion 1.2x All the expansions installed.

There are instructions on the page that Daemon linked. The link seems to be bad because of the period ending his sentence.

Right at the top it tells you how to edit registry values. This is just like editing the Windows registry.

Open winecfg, go to the Audio tab, disable hardware acceleration. That's the easy way. :)

At least, that should do the same, right?
