MS Office 2000 cd key problem

I got Office installed fine with the product key. Worked very fast and I relogged in and it was sitting within Wine's menu all neat and ready to go. Then I open Word and it asks for the key again, I give it to it, but it doesnt like it. Keeps asking me until it finally closes out the program.

Is there a way to get around this?

What version of Wine? This was a known problem in older versions, but based on test reports in the AppDB seem to have been fixed as of 1.1.2. If you're using an older version, upgrade.
