Wine Sound Issues

I installed wine onto my Mac OS X 10.5.6/ Leopard
It works fine except for the sound. There is not any. I went to the Audio tab to check it out and and I did not find any drivers. After getting out of the Winecfg I am not able to get to the Audio tab anymore. A hour glass appears and never goes away when clicking the audio tab.

What Should I be doing?

Where did you get your Wine?

Audio works here with version 1.1.18 from Mike Kronenberg's repostitory.

I used Macport. I will try to find out how to change repos and see if installing wine from a different source works.

I am going to try to install the wine-devel version from macport before resorting to compiling by myself.

unfortunity this does not seem to solve my problem. I still can not even get to the sound tab let alone enable it.
