Hello everybody
I create this post because I can play at FEAR2 : Project Origin in my Ubuntu 8.10.
The game is very fluid and I'm in the Intervalle 4 and I don't have a graphic bug and sound problem.
But, with the sound card : HDA Intel (my old soundcard), the game crash in the cinematic game.
My PC :
Processor : Intel Core2Duo E8400
Motherboard : Asus P5Q
Memory : 4Go de ram
Graphic Card : ATI Radéon 4850HD + driver 9.2
Sound Card : Terratec Auréon 5.1
O/S : Linux Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid

Hello,
what version of wine do you use?
There was a patch that fixed F.E.A.R. crash when sound is enabled [1] released
in wine-1.1.18 that was published yesterday.
I have only the demo of FEAR 2 installed currently and did not play the game
very much.
But the crash that normally happened at the beginning of the game did not
happen with the new version.
$ lspci | grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio
Controller (rev 02)

I use Wine 1.1.18 but i test the game with the version 1.1.17.
And yes, the game crash at the beginning when you are in the vehicle

It's for this reason that I bought my Terratec Aureon 5.1.

So could you test also with wine-1.1.18?
I am not sure if this game sequence is in the demo.
I will try and see if there are any crashs.
