'L"winebth" failed to start' on every .exe launch

I get the following error in the macOS terminal every time I launch any .exe, 32 or 64-bit:

003c:fixme:service:scmdatabase_autostart_services Auto-start service L"winebth" failed to start: 1359

The actual apps launch fine even with the error

steps: I launch Wine Stable.app, and then type

wine path/to/app.exe

macOS 11
