Installation of Visual C++ 2008 redistributable fails no matter what I do

I tried to install Photoshop CS6 on Linux Mint 22 with WIne 9.0 stable. The installation fails with the following error:

I did the latter (install it manually from the payloads directory) and that fails with:

I then tried to install it through Winetricks (command: winetricks vcrun2008). This fails with:

Realizing that I'm doing 64 bit here and winetricks only handles 32 bit (apparently) I downloaded vcredist_x64.exe from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=26368 and tried to install it manually. This fails the same way as the one above in the payloads subdirectory.

So. How to troubleshoot this? Where do I go from here? All suggestions and pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
