Hi,
trying to make the 2025 Version of this software https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... n&iId=4750 running under linux wine. Since versions pre 2025 worked fine, 2025 is crashing. I spent some time trying debuging without success...now asking for help.
Arch Linux with wine-9.22 (Staging).
Complete new 64-bit wine prefix.
$ WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/Downloads/WISOSteuer2025.exe
-> Installation works with out any problems

-> Application starts but showing a self implemented crash handler saying there is an error. The crash handler collects data for a post mortem dump and after 'Ok' everything is finished. Note: crash handler magically offers saving data under default wine prefix.
-> Now having a post mortem file called MORIA_systeminfo_win_27_12.zip containing dmp files.

Hi all, Hi Dirk, Hi Haexbert, I'm also trying to use WISO2025 with wine. Also with my installation the program simply crashes after almost a minute(?) of waiting.
WISO2024 still starts without problems on my computer.
I've tried removing the qnetworklistmanager.dll. It didn't change anything.
I've also started both programs from the console with (/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/WISO/Steuersoftware 2025> wine 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\WISO Steuer 2025\WISO Steuer 2025.lnk').
Unfortunately, that didn't give me a clue either.
What would be a good next step to investigate?

Hi all, Hi @Dirk2718, Hi @haexbert, I've done some more research. I've also saved the system information. Unfortunately I can't find a dump file in it.
Also starting with WINEDEBUG didn't give me any hint.

Try to install into a complete new WINEPREFIX (=directory). Note to set the WINEPREFIX for the wine calls otherwise wine uses the default ~/.wine directory.
$ mkdir ~/WIN64_WISO2025
$ WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/Downloads/WISOSteuer2025.exe
$ WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/WIN64_WISO2025/drive_c/Program\ Files/WISO/Steuersoftware\ 2025/WISO2025.EXE
If it crashes.... the dump file is contained in the system info zip file.
Then try to remove qnetworklistmanager.dll in the WINEPREFIX above and try again.
I used Windows 11 in
$ WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ winecfg

Hi haexbert, thanks for your help. It works now. The new WinePrefix really seems to help.

Here are my notes:
mkdir ~/WIN64_WISO2025
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ winecfg
# only Windows11 selected, apply -> stop
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/Downloads/WISOSteuer2025.exe
# tells me that it is already installed -> uninstall Wine application
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/Downloads/WISOSteuer2025.exe
# tells me again that some redistributables are being installed:
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WIN64_WISO2025/ wine64 ~/WIN64_WISO2025/drive_c/Program\ Files/WISO/Steuersoftware\ 2025/WISO2025.EXE
# Program starts, but wants an update.
# Update downloaded, https://www.buhl.de/shop/updates

With Wine 10.8 everything runs fine. Unfortunately, I used system repo with version 9.0.

Thank you for that post, I tried with 10.9 and got it working without any additional fixes.
