Hello,
My journey to adopt Linux for Audio production is being affected by an incompatibility with Juce 8, a framework many companies use to develop plugins that can run more easily on Windows and Mac.
It seems that Juce 8 introduced support for d2d 1.3, while as far as I can understand Wine (using 9.21 tkg staging on Debian 12) goes up to 1.2.
Please take a look here:

Some plugins being updated and optimized for Juce 8 are no longer running (Wine/yabridge hangs with high CPU usage).
Examples: Toneboosters and Aberrant DSP latest updates.
Unless some specific winecfg/winetricks settings can help in this regard this is a showstopper for me.
I would truly love to move to Linux but the number of plugins that are becoming incompatible is growing and I'm afraid it's only getting worse.
Thanks,
Mario
Increasing problems with JUCE Audio plugins

Please move the above post to "Linux" subforum. Thanks.
Re: Increasing problems with JUCE Audio plugins
Hi, I'd like to bump this; Since JUCE is the most widely used framework for audio application and plug-in development, it's a major component that should be runnable on WINE. This is a problem that will affect anyone making music using vst plugins through wine. JUCE is the most widely used framework for audio application and plug-in development. JUCE is an open source C++ codebase.
This is a huge issue for me and is currently preventing me from working since plugin providers upgrading to JUCE 8 are making their expensive and essential plugins inaccessible to wine users. Some of my things are no longer loading ~at all~ due to this.
Is anyone working on making WINE compatible with the latest (JUCE
? What would it take to get this happening? Please let me know if there's any way I can help.
