Ever since wine v9.12, Mailwasher shows a new, additional artifact.
I'm already used to having a "ghost" window of Mailwasher when minimized, blocking that section of the desktop where the Mailwasher window was before minimizing.
Since wine v9.12 (and all subsequent versions since, currently v9.18 is the latest version available) there's a new artifact, also only present when the Mailwasher window is minimized (to tray). See attached image. It shows the large (grey) "ghost window" that's "visible" because in this case it hasn't yet taken over the color of the desktop and is thus "visible". (Not sure why there's a smaller black part within the large grey area.)
The red arrow points to the new, additional artifact, some sort of "window top decoration" which isn't even there when the window is maximized.
I have no idea which part of wine makes up such and artifact and why. (Or: Which part of linux is misinterpreting what it gets fed by wine.)
The Mailwasher versions tested are v7.15.5 and v7.15.10.
Downgrading to wine v9.11 makes at least the new artifact go away.

Re: Mailwasher: New artifact since wine v9.12
I tried to reproduce, but I get a black screen after setting up my mail address. How did you get it to work in the first place?
Re: Mailwasher: New artifact since wine v9.12
Nothing special, I guess. Just installed it. (And uninstalled / renamed the folder of Microsoft Edge WebView 2 Runtime afterwards because that one doesn't work for me anyway and just leads to high cpu load and crashes.)
But: I didn't start at zero but transferred the data folder from my previous Windows system. So, I didn't have to set up any email accounts or any other settings. Also, I imported the registry entries from my Windows system. So, in that way, I in fact did something special... But that was not because the program didn't work for me, I imported all the old data before even starting it for the first time.

Re: Mailwasher: New artifact since wine v9.12
Also, in the settings, "minimize to" needs to be set to "System Tray" for the artifact to show up. If set to "Task Bar" (as is default), this artifact does not appear.
The other artifact, the "ghost window" is present in both settings, i.e. also in "minimize to Task Bar". If the window is minimized, you can't click on the area of the desktop (or any program window) that the Mailwasher window occupied before minimizing. One can "activate" program windows by clicking on the window outside of that area, hence pulling it to the front, but the desktop area is always "dead", and only accessible on a different (virtual) desktop (where Maiwasher isn't present).
