MS OFfice 2016/O365 installation

Post by horvathcsabalaszlo »

Hi,

Last year i successfully installed Office (O365) based on this guide : https://ruados.github.io/articles/2021- ... ce365-wine OS was a nearly stock Kubuntu 20.04

Now i tried on a Kubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, and does not work. I get 30088-45, and similar errors. OfficeC2Rclient is also dying in the beginning of the installation. I tried the install on a physical and a virtual machine (24.04 is the virtual), if it matters. Haven't seen any similar issue on Google.

Does anyone know a working method for the installation? Will be thankful :)

Use the same version of Wine you used before?

Don't know what was the version, because it was a test machine (now also, but if works, we'll install it for a friend). But i think for the 20.04 it was 8.0. And shouldn't the installer work with newer versions?
As i see, the installer tries to download from MS, even the CD based (and the OfficeSetup.exe too), so it may be something also changed in it. This is why i ask that is there any surely working new method...?
I tried Playonlinux, also fails with an Office 2016 CD.
