Specific games lag and freezes via Wine

Post by pacmazco »

I have a couple of games that run the same engine and are the same developer in older versions of Wine like 6.0 stable they all worked like normal, but after updating to version 7.0 and the current 8 stable it either lags so much to the point where it is unplayable and you can barely close it or worse case the whole system freezes that I have to manually reboot the system. I am able to only move the mouse, but everything freezes even the clock so I can't even kill it in task manager or close it so restarting it by hand is the only option. Are there any additional packages that can fix this? it's not a Steam game you just run it it's not even installed you just extract it and run the executible.

Here are the games requirments and specs:

Required CPU: Pentium III 800MHz
Recommended CPU: Pentium 4 1.5GHz or higher
Required Memory: 512MB
Recommended Memory: 1024MB+
Required Resolution: 800x600
Sounds: PCM
Required Graphics: GeForce3/RADEON 8200
Recommended Graphics: GeForce6600+/RADEON X700XT+
DirectX: DirectX8.0a+ 3D Compatible

I am using Intel UHD610 GPU no Nvidia

I think you should check Wine configuration. Open your Wine configuration settings and make sure you have the appropriate settings enabled. You can use the winecfg command in the terminal to access the configuration..... Experiment with different settings, such as adjusting the Windows version compatibility mode or enabling/disabling various options like "Allow the window manager to control the windows" or "Emulate a virtual desktop."
