hosts file (nfsuclient.exe for nfs underground online multiplayer)

hello!
first i would love to say thank you for wine programists. over the years i can see, how my games have fewer and fewer problems. finally NFSU works now perfectly in offline mode. i really wants to play online.

on windows OS is a simple procedure: nfsuclient.exe run as admin and check server > NFSU run as admin > enjoy.
ubuntu 20.04 LTS:
i run nfsuclient.exe in lutris or as wine in terminal ($user). when i'm trying to check the server, client shows me error "ps2nfs04.ea.com didn't resolved as expected. check hosts file". when i'm running nfsuclient.exe by wine as a #root, instead of i see "make sure your hosts file is writable". (wineprefix) hosts file looks good, and modificable (by client), when i'm not use client as a #root.

i was looking for solution, and i read something like "wine runs applications always as admin" and "hosts file in system32 is not using by wine, wine use a main hosts file from linux filesystem"
yes, i was trying to edit both files - not help.

when i run nfsuserver.exe and next run nfsuclient.exe, is a success time, because i can check the server in client without error. success? no... NFSU not work in online mode. but i think is this a good hint.

this point is end of my competence.

that's very important for me, because i play NFSU 17 years, and want to permanently migrate to linux.

may be useful, but probably has any mistake or i don't know how to use. if i try commands (contains instructions), i see hosts file in linux change content. nfsu still not work in online mode...
maybe script is perfect, but born in 2004, and newest linux needs something else?
i really believe get help here.
