My printer has no duplex function.
I have a word document with 10 pages.
I would like to print pages 4-8.
I would like to print on both sides.
Problem: I found no way to do this.
Wine-Version: Staging 5.6
MS Microsoft Word 2010
HP ink printer
driver: HPLIP
How did I try to print:
Menu->print->settings->
-User defined range
-pages 4-8
-double-sided manual printing
--> print <--
What was the result:
First it prints the pages 4,6,8. Then he asks me to manually take the paper out of the tray and put it back in again so that the back of the paper can be printed. Then it prints the pages 5,7 + an empty page
So I have a complete mess of the page order now. This is the page order I have now:
First paper:
Front page: 8
Back page: 5
Second paper:
Front page: 6
Back page: 7
Third paper:
Front page: 4
Back page: empty page
In short: 8,5,6,7,4
My expectation was:
4,5,6,7,8
So I thought, maybe there is a workaround and I can print first only the even pages on one side and then take the paper out of the tray and put it back in again, so that the back of the paper can be printed. And then print only the even pages.
But when printing the even pages, the pages must be printed in reverse. Not 4,6,8 but 8,6,4 .
But I found no reverse function in MS Word 2010.
So I even can't make this workaround.
So: How can I print pages 4-8 double side? Or for example pages 520-610 in a bigger document?
Please let me know, if you need some more info's.
Can somebody help me? Thank you.

Also tested with wine 5.18. It's the same.

Are you sure this is a Wine issue?
There seems to be a setting in Word to reverse the page order.

Thank you very much for this valuable hint @jkfloris!
Sorry for suspecting Wine.
Works now like a charm. I like it.
