Hello, so I am currently trying to run Spider-Man Web of Shadows on Xubuntu 18.04. using wine staging 5.5
Game requires vcrun2005 to be installed to work properly(otherwise it would just freeze when pressing new game). I installed it using winetricks. And the game runs fine the first time I run it with a fresh vcrun2005 installed and a fresh prefix made.
The problem is that once I close the game after it worked and try to run it for a second time it just freezes when I press New Game as if vcrun2005 wasn't installed. I really don't know how to fix this.
Have to reinstall prefix everytime for vcrun to work

Update: Managed to make it work with wine 5.0 stable.
Versions that did not work for me are:
wine proton 5
wine stable 3
wine staging 5.5
wine stable 1.7
