SafeDisc copy protection

Post by SiKing »

Hello all.

I am trying to run a legitimate copy of an MSWin game under wine. The game is NHL 2002 and according to this site, it comes with SafeDisc version 2.40. I tried to search around a little more and I have no reason to doubt this.
I found out, that since wine version 0.9.something only SafeDisc version 1 is supported. I found this page at winehq, but I cannot tell from the linked bugs, if version 2 should already be supported or not. I have wine version 1.1.10 and it appears to be not working. Is this correct?

TIA, SiKing.

Should work just fine under resent Wine versions.

However because lots of things keep changing in Wine some versions might be broken (not being able to run SafeDisk). For example current Wine version can't run game protected with SafeDisk 3.
