Does Wine allow me to change the parent window of an application run under Wine?
I've tested one of the 64k demos from Farbrausch and it works perfectly under Wine. I'd like to have them running as my wallpaper.
I've tried Xwinwrap but it doesn't work so I was wondering if there is something I can pass to Wine to tell it to draw its windows on the root window ( or any other window I specify, so I could also use them as a screen-saver )

No, this is not supported.
Wine requires lots of special handling as far as windows goes. And uses lots of features not always available in all modes.
