World Of Goo freeze the pc!

Hi, i'm a new user..
I write to you to solve this strange problem..
I use Ubuntu 8.10, and a few days ago i installed World of Goo (native for windows) through wine..the game go well, but when i enter in the multiplayer zone, or when there is a game connection with the web, the pc freeze..i can't move the mouse and also the keyboard not obtain results..it's still possible hear the music of the game, but every other action is vain..the only thing i can do is reboot the pc..

Can you help me? I hope yes.. :roll:

P.S: sorry for my bad english, but i'm italian.. :P

Try using virtual display mode see if it helps.

With "virtual display mode" you mean virtual desktop emulation?
If it's so, i tryed and nothing changed.. :(

Yeah...

What video card, driver version? Are you running as regular user?

The video card is a Ati 9200 se 128mb, but the driver version i don't know..i think it's the open driver because i didn't need to install anything to get video working..
And yes, the user is regular..

Giving "glxgears -info" in the console, i saw the video card driver:

"GL_RENDERER = Mesa DRI R200 20060602 AGP 8x x86/MMX/SSE2 TCL
GL_VERSION = 1.3 Mesa 7.2"

It's a driver possible error?

Now i tried to wait after the freeze, and after 5 minutes the pc come back to normal state!! Obviously wine is crashed, and in the terminal it show:
