PROBLEM WITH mxrmcfg.dll

Post by y.venturini »

Hello everybody,

i am running National Instruments MAX software under wine-windows8. When I attempt to launch MAX an error message appear: "NI MAX could not launch because the required library mxrmcfg.dll failed to load". I found out many issues about this problem on the internet, but I couldn't solve it.
Can anybody help me please?

Thanks (this is my first post, thus forgive me if the question is stupid! :? )

Why have you set Wine to Windows 8? If the app doesn't explicitly require a newer version than XP, you should leave it at that.

You didn't mention what Wine version you're using. If it's not the latest development release, upgrade.

Ok, i did it all. I upgraded wine to v 1.8 and I set windows xp in winecfg. The problem still persist. What could I try? I have already repaired my software MAX installation but nothing changed.

Thanks :)

Is this the app? http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/ ... E2006EA83B

If so, from what that page says, looks like it requires Windows hardware drivers. If that's the case, it's never going to work in Wine.
