Having problems with World of warcraft

Post by Rheibio »

Well... THANKS to wine developers!! Never thought i could play WOW on salckware!
Actually it's running a LOT smoother on wine as it did on xp.
However the only problemn is that the cursor can't reach the far bottom on the screen where my bar is. So i can't put my spells in the quick slots. Any suggestions about it? Is there someway to solve this minor issue?

I am having the same problem. I am running Kbuntu 8.04 64bit. And WoW
does seem to run better under wine now then XP.
I have a XP drive just in case. also some times it just locks up or
blows. (just wow) I think its the nvidia driver myself I am running
a gforce 9800 gtx card with 64bit 177.80 drivers.

and also Many Many Thanks to the Wine Developers you guys never seem to
stop ! it just get better and better thank you

maybe it's because of panels.
try to run it under 'console safe mode(???)' session.

and I think unchecking "Allow the window manager to control the windows" under Graphics tab would work.

Same problem here, but my tray bar is on top, rather than on bottom.

I solved with a quick workaround: alt-tab out of the game, hiding the game screen, then alt-tabbing into it again. The mouse can freely move in the game area again, like it did pre-1.1.6.

Is this in full screen or windowed? You might try whichever you aren't
using and see if it does the same there. I don't know about slackware,
but some other distros have more WoW glitches in one that the other.

its a regression bug, it was introduced at 1.1.5 or at 1.1.6 i think, not sure ;P

it has already been reported so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

as a temp workaround,(assuming that you're playing with full screen), log at your character then esc -> video -> use windowed mode -> (check) maximize window (was working for me as with v 2.3.x and beta, i dont know about v3.0 i've canceled my account until wolk comes out :P)

you're actually tricking the window that plays the wow, to be on top of the bars, not actually playing it in full screen, but the result is the same never the less.

The bug is fixed in the Git version pre 1.1.7
