Hi, I'm very new to Mint and WINE, migrating 3-4 computers over, 1 at a time.
My old OS is XP Pro, ( never used or went past XP btw).
First computer was to test drive Mint, etc Done, all good.
-------------,
2nd computer ( PC2) has fresh install of Mint.
Have activated/upgraded through on-line/installed WINE on PC2, it's ready to go as per instructions.
Have searched but I require reading in basic form on how to get Office 2010 working on PC2,using WINE please.
What and where can I find the steps so a first time user can comprehend ?
Thanks
Very much appreciated for the Emulator,
Thank You WINE team
Office 2010 Install
Re: Office 2010 Install
All you have to do after installing is set riched20 to native, builtin in winecfg. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=17336
Re: Office 2010 Install
Thanks;
Only Excel VBA and whatever else is required to try and make it work.
The goal is, a web query via a dynamic method, grabbing specified tables and placing that data onto a spread sheet.
The rest gets done with macros and formula, then spits the calculated data to a text file.
It all works perfectly as is in XP with IE8, a minimal requirement at this point in time
to obtain the data.
If, and inevitably when,
the data source administrators say, " minimum IE allowed now is Win 7,8,10 ->
then I'm screwed, without the data there is no text file at the other end.
Because no one knows what new format the data source will become,
Excel /VBA will no longer do it.
Plan B in the making....,
Ideas suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
