Hey all,
I've recently begun using Wine in the hopes of running a PC game, namely, Ultima Online. I realize there are a lot of ways out there to get this game installed on a Mac but I suspect doing it myself through wine will result in better performance. In fact I know it does because I've tried other methods and I managed to get the game running through wine and it does perform better, albeit with one slight glitch.
I should start by saying that I am operating on a late 2008 macbook pro running OS X 10.10.2 and Wine version 1.7.39. I also have Xcode version 6.2 and X11 (Xquarts) version 2.7.7. I managed to get the game installed properly and get it to run very smoothly using Terminal. However, the game still shows up with mac's native window decorations, despite my unchecking the box "allow window manager to decorate windows" in winecfc from Terminal. I can't seem to get the game to run using old windows style decorations. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but the game requires windows style decorations for certain functions.
Also, the options in X11 to "Follow system keyboard layout", "Enable key equivalents under X11" and "Option keys send Alt_L and Alt_R" don't seem to do anything either. Not sure if you guys can help with this but I though I would bring it up anyways.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide and thanks for this awesome program!
Cheers,
EvoEco

Try setting a virtual desktop in winecfg.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately it didn't work. The windows still show up with native mac window decorations
