Problem with LDS Church family history indexing program

Hi. A very odd problem with the FamilySearch Indexing program from the LDS church. It's tough to get help -- the people in Salt Lake don't have any real experience with Wine and Linux, and it's not possible to download the app from them without having an account. I'm trying to get them to set up a test account for me so that I can work through the problems.

Here's the odd problem we're having. When the app opens, it presents a simple screen with the standard File, Tools, etc., drop down boxes. Clicking on any of them brings up the drop down menu, but releasing the mouse button makes it disappear. I thought holding down the mouse button and highlighting the menu entries would work, but no go -- nothing is highlighted.

Quite by accident I discovered that this problem only occurs when you're in full screen mode. Clicking on the button to unmaximize the window makes the problem go away.

Weird? Yes. Has anyone ever encountered this problem with any other app? Thanks.
