Install of MS office 2011 breaking one of the controls

Post by ncmb »

We have our programs and required files bottled up for distribution on Mac, and are seeing a problem where if the user has MS Office 2011 installed on their mac as well one of our controls does not work. Uninstalling (Including deleting files found in “Library/Application Support/Wine/” and re-installing did not work to fix the issue.

Has anyone else run into MS office 2011 (Or other versions? Customer reported they thought it was 2011) causing issues like this for them? Is there anything we can do? This is happening on several computers for them and we aren't able to replicate the problem ourselves unfortunately. The only computer not having this problem for them is the one that does not have MS Office installed.

Who are "we" and exactly what "programs" are you talking about?

We being my company, I didn't think the programs matter so much as the controls being used? The control being used is called GDIPicturepro and it draws text onto images, that functionality in the program is what we are seeing break.

We can't search the AppDB, Bugzilla, or anywhere else for known issues with your program if we don't even know the name. I can tell you that haven't heard of any issues with Office 2011 affecting Wine, but most of our users here are on Linux, and would never encounter that situation. And third party versions of Wine aren't supported, so the problem could well exist without it ever being reported here.
