Is there some version of wine or some code that could be changed to allow 256 color programs to run? Or anything that can be done? I tried the 256workarounds, but none of them seemed to work.
The program in question is Sonic CD, the most picky program ever written. It must have 256 colors-no more, no less. It also used to only run on win95 (not even 98 allowed it to run). However, a guy made a patch that fixes the issues so it runs on 98 or XP.
