NWN2: No Models visible?

Post by r4pt0r »

After lots of trouble with an ATI Card (better say ATI Linux drivers...) I switched back to an nVidia Card (GeForce 7600GT) and tried to *finally* get NWN2 working with Wine (1.1.3 on debian Lenny AMD64, 2.6.26.1).

Well - the Game starts, but first thing that doesn't work as it should is the "graphic options" menus. Some Lists are empty, e.g. for the "Texture Filters" or the FSAA Modes (only 0x available).
Also if i switch on water reflections and click on apply the checkbox switches back to unchecked status.

Well, with this i could live as long as i could play the game.

But when it comes to character generation i can't see a character model.

If i just continue and start the game _all_ character models aren't visible. The world is shown normally, only the character model's aren't there...

The list of errors when starting from console is pretty long, but consists mainly of 2 errors that are shown _extremely_ often when starting the game.

Do I have to recompile Wine when switching from ATI drivers to nvidia? the ATI drivers (mesa) have been removed completely...

Thanks!

No, you don't have to recompile, but you could probably fetch the latest git and compile that to see if your situation improves. If it doesn't, try searching bugzilla for your problem, if no one has reported it then create a new bug report. You can attach the terminal output as a file.

Well, after reinstalling NWN2 and patching it, it works...
I can't remember exactly if i used an no-CD patch with the old installation that maybe caused this issue.

I now run the game by browsing to the game directory, using the wine explorer. When directly launching it from the command line the Game can't detect the DVD.
