No sound in Wine 1.7.22

Hello WineHq community.

I'm trying to run a game but having no sound in it. I'm on Linux 17 64bit running Wine 1.7.22.

I tried running two games, both of the load fine but I have no sound. This would mean the sound issue is common between the two.

How can I fix this? Should i install something from winetricks?

Does the sound test in winecfg work? If it doesn't, post terminal output from that. If the sound test works, post terminal output from one of the games.

By "Linux 17" do you mean Linux Mint 17?

Yes I'm on LinuxMint 17 64bit. There is sound in Winecfg.

Interesting, when I right click on the game .exe and run it through "Wine WIndows Program Loader", no sound. But when I run wine game.exe through terminal with 'cd' to game directory, I have sound! It's normal. But why no sound by just right clicking and running "Wine Windows Program Loader"?

The other game called "Hotline Miami", before it use to run and would display some object error but now after reinstalling and running from the terminal i'm having black screen. The installer worked fine and game splash displayed, but nothing beyond. Try installing native dmime for the second game. You might want to install that game to a separate wineprefix to avoid potentially messing up the game that now works. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#wineprefix
