i have divinity 2 dragon knight saga installedon linux mint 17 mate desktop i understand that it worked fine on an older version of wine but i cant downgrade as it will cause yet more problems not quite sure why it doesnt work in the new version though the main problem im having is when you break any barrels or after the first part of the game if you turn aroundor head backwards the game crashes

my wine version is 1.7.22 it is the latest stable release as far as i am aware i know that divinity 2 dks used to work on an older version of wine but i cant down grade to it because 1. i cant remember witch version it was and 2. it will cause majour comatibility impossabilities for me but i would really like this game to work

The crash is due to the missing vertex blending implementetaion in Wine.
The latest patch from bug #6955 can be applied on recent 1.7.23 and that should fix the crash in the game.

Apply the patch to the Wine source code then compile Wine as described here: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-719d19c ... c2a301ce52

Now you have a patched Wine that hopefully resolves your issue in Divinity 2. It's best not to install a patched Wine system-wide, run it from the source directory instead.

This means you compiled Wine without png support. You need to install libpng-devel package with your package manager then recompile Wine.
When you run ./configure in the build tree you will be informed if certain dependencies are missing.
For example:

not to worry i fixed the issue (for interest of anyone else having these problems) untick or tick the anti alising boxz in menue the only thing you have to be careful of in game play is opening doors the game may crash but when reloaded it will work fine so just save your game before opening doors that have to load ^.^ game works perfectly
