Problems for Linux MultiMedia Studio

Post by user001 »

Linux MultiMedia Studio (LMMS) is a VST host, MIDI sequencer etc. - for synthesizing music.

There is one particular VST plugin (these plugins are .DLL files) that I simply can't live without: http://vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin ... ion&id=164

In Windows it's fine. In Linux (LMMS uses Wine to be able to load VST plugins), when you load this, the GUI will appear for a fraction of a second, then the window turns grey and the program hangs.

The LMMS people told me I ought to report that over here, as maybe Wine can make it work, with the proper adjustments.

Thanks for any insight or recommendations,

Without knowing wine version we cannot be much help. user001 some issues disappear as soon as people start using the development branch of wine. Also I don't know how you would access wine normal debugging output when it being run as a LMMS plugin. Yes most here will be willing to provide some assistance but we do need more information. Key information required is wine --version and what is wine normal output to stderr asking the LMMS guys where that goes so you can give it to us would be useful.
