i am pretty new to the whoul linux stuff but i am trying my best
I am using the Software Twedge (http://www.tec-it.com/de/software/data- ... fault.aspx i hope its ok to link it) on my Windows 7 system. Now i am trying to chance that to Linux but there is no Client for it so i just googled this "wine" and i like it. The problem is that i didnt find anyone who tried to use it on Linux. Is there any way for me to hope that it will work? I mean on the page for the Tutorial they said i need some stuff out of Windows like DLLs and so on. Is it possible for me to just try it and maybe get lucky or do i NEED this files first.
One tip I can give you about posting questions on forums is to use a more descriptive subject line than "Hello." A lot of experienced users will simply ignore your post because of it.
As for the software you linked to, it doesn't have an AppDB entry, so the only way to find out if it will work in Wine is to try it out. I assume the "tutorial" you refer to is the Tips & Tricks tab on the page you linked to. There's nothing there about running it in Wine. As for the tips it does give, as a general rule, if you have to do it on Windows, you have to do it in Wine, too.
From the product page it appears this software is designed to communicate with various devices (barcode readers, etc.). Wine's support for USB devices is very poor; unless your device is pure serial, it may not work.
Thank you sir for your help and im sorry about my post. i was a bit in a hurry and didnt think about it. i will try it myself and if it doesnt work i have to think what i will do. yes its linked with a USB converter (rs232). mostlikly it wont work but i will give it a try anyway. thank you again and have a good evening.
