Game turns to lnk on desktop

Game turns to lnk on desktop
Everytime i download a game instead of it being the normal icon where i can click and play it turns into a lnk file. Then when i click on it it says path not found and then there is no windows program configured to open this type of file. I am running the latest wine 1.7 is there a way to fix this?

Are you downloading games from Steam or otherwise?Everytime i download a game instead of it being the normal icon where i can click and play it turns into a lnk file.
