Wine won't run any exe, fails at updating config
I installed wine through homebrew. When I open an exe the message "The Wine configuration in ~/.wine is being updated, please wait..." displays in a window, then it never finishes. The terminal displays these errors:

Drag and drop breaks system wide at some point in trying to run wine, I have to logout to fix it. 
I did a reinstall of wine and rebooted. An exe was able to run after a several minute wait, the config window remains open though.

I built wine from source and am having the same problems.

The bug was caused by USB Overdrive, disabling that preference pane fixed the issue.
