USB Joysticks and Wine
I've been googling around today. I'm wanting to play an old Windows combat flight simulator with Wine. The only joystick I have is a usb joystick. If I am looking at my search results right, it looks as though it isn't possible to use a usb joystick in Wine. Is this correct? If so, is there a type of joystick that I can use?
Re: USB Joysticks and Wine
djpemberton kinda incorrect place for looking as wine mostly does not do drivers. It the hosting OS of wine that does drivers.

If the usb joystick is support by Linux/OS X wine can convert this into a direct input joystick. Yes basically if the joystick works with Linux/OS X it can be

A modern USB joystick using USB HID interface for Joysticks will work just fine with Linux or OS X. Its some of the older USB joysticks that are problematic its also a question if they still work. When I say older USB joysticks I mean 7-8 years old or older. Xbox joysticks can also be a little bit of a problem.
djpemberton you would be very unlucky if you have a modern joystick that does not work with Linux.
