I am running SimStat/WordStat from provalis research on my macbook pro (OS Mavericks). Every time I start this software wine seems to create some sort of new ID for the software. My licence for this software is for use on a single computer so every time I re-start the machine wine seems to assign to the machine a new ID and the licence software detects an attempt to run it on more than one machine and blocks my ability to use the software. The producers of the software looked into that and also agree this is an issue with wine and had to re-activate my account multiple times now which has become a major inconvenience (i.e. the company is in Canada and if the computer my gets blocked in the morning here in the UK I have to wait for the afternoon in order to be able to work).
I wonder if anyone has had similar issues (even with other softwares of course) in the past and if there is a way around it (I could try cross-over or run it through a virtual machine but wine is the most convenient option for me at present).
Many thanks
Marco
Software registration fail
Re: Software registration fail
Delete the prefix you are running with or don’t use it for that software, use a brand new freshly created prefix.
