C:\WINDOWS\system32 vs ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32

I am a new user to Ubuntu and wine, and I need to copy some files from C:\WINDOWS\system32 to my ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. Ubuntu is my sole OS.

So my question... where in the world do I find the C:\ folder if Ubuntu does not sort directories that way? Also, is there something more than a FAQ, maybe a for-dummies part of the site I can look at to answer questions like this? I've had a lot of luck using the terminal with sudo, root, and user (managed to get WoW working thru wine) but there always seem to be what are probably basic questions that I have about the overall nature of Ubuntu that I haven't discovered by teaching myself or by following how-tos.

Or

.wine/drive_c

in your home folder. You may need to turn on viewing of hidden files.

I've always been able to get to my ~/.wine/drive_c.

What I am referencing to is a http://wiki.jswindle.com/index.php?titl ... ntable=yes wiki that makes reference to the C drive.

That reference is to a real Windows install--either your Windows partition, if you're dual booting, or another computer, if you're not.

I'm pretty sure copying ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll to wine system32 is a really bad idea. I would advice against doing that.
