Grand Prix Legends

Post by Bagmoolwan »

GPL is old but has a good reputation. Installation seemed to run OK, but the program itself crashes immediately with

Code: Select all

Unhandled exception: divide by zero in 32-bit code (0x004dec45)
..........................................................
System information:
    Wine build: wine-1.7.14
    Platform: i386
    Host system: Linux
    Host version: 3.8.0-35-generic
Is there anything I could do? The application database lists GPL as Platinum for wine-1.5.12, so there might be hope. My Linux is Lubuntu 13.04.

@Bagmoolwan,

I don't have this game myself... But a simple Google search indicates that the game is quite unstable without an update patch (or two). I would recommend running the game in OpenGL - once you've updated it.

Check out this GPL Utilities Guide site (if you haven't already) for more information...

Get back here if you are still stuck!

Thank you very much. The Guide directed me to the GPLPS installer from http://gplps.wordpress.com/gplps-gpl-installer/, which let me get driving in Monaco in a matter of minutes.

So far, the game seems to run just as it should (but there is a lot of stuff I have not tried yet.) Well, there is a confusing jumble of numbers on the screen when driving, but that is probably not wine's fault.
